Curriculum Vitae

Stefan Mladenovic

8 years pro

National Team Member: the Netherlands

Personal profile

Mladenovic started playing professional basketball at 17 years old with Hanzevast Capitals, Groningen. Was named in the newcomer of the year team in the Dutch Basketball League (2007-2008). Made right away minutes in Uleb Cup against top teams as Charleroi, Hemofarm, Girona and Galatasaray. Started some of those games. In the summer he played for the Dutch U18 team as starting point guard. He was also selected for the Serbian National U18 team coached my Miroslav ´Muta´ Nikolic (Hemofarm) but decided to play for Holland because of his school obligations.

After Catalonian coach Joseph Claros left Groningen, Mladenovic played less minutes in the 2008-2009 season with Groningen but learned a lot from coach Marco van den Berg and left after the season for Rotterdam Basketball where he would play for 3 consecutive seasons. Meanwhile during the summer in 2009 and 2010 Mladenovic led the U20 Dutch national team as a point guard. In 2009 the Dutch National team won for the first time in history the European Championships B Division U20. In 2010 Dutch U20 Team played for the first time in the A division.
After 3 years Rotterdam, he went to Den Helder Kings to play under coach Jean-Marc Jaumin. After this season he made his debut at the senior national team under Coach Toon van Helfteren in the qualification rounds for Eurobasket 2015. After Den Helder Mladenovic moved to Matrixx Magixx Nijmegen under Coach Micheal Schuurs where he had a big role as a point guard but also as a shooting guard. Unfortunatly right before play-offs he got an ACL injury and missed the Play-Offs as the first half of the 2014-2015 season. During January 2015 Mladenovic signed at Dutch champion Donar Groningen where he also started his professional career to help the team make it to the finals and win the Dutch Cup despite his smaller role on the team.

The 2015-2016 season he played for Rotterdam Basketball. Right now Mladenovic plays again for the Dutch Senior National Team and is preparing for the qualification games for Eurobasket 2017.

Mladenovic is a true team player with a lot of experience for his age. He is a combo guard, 1/2, with a good three point shot and is tough to guard in a 1-1 situation or from a pick and roll/pop. Developed into a good defender who can play full court defence because of coach Pep Claros who had him guarding top players in Uleb Cup with 17 years old. Prefers to play the point guard to make plays for his teammates but is also good at the shooting guard because of his long range.
